history
The quaint, quintessentially English village of Godshill is everything you would expect, and a little bit more. Situated between Newport and Shanklin, it is easily accessible by car, and offers ample parking. It is also easily accessible for those with mobility problems, with many of the attractions and facilities close by.
The winding main street is lined with beautiful thatched cottages, a good selection of tearooms and shops selling local arts crafts and produce. There is also a Model Village which allows visitors to see the entire area in miniature.
For those who are able to walk to it, a highlight of any visit to Godshill, is a visit to the magnificent 15th Century church which is set upon the hill overlooking the village, and from where the village derived its name. The church is in the top 10 most visited churches in the UK.
